Our students have to write Book Fair - Paragraphs in various exams because paragraphs are an integral part of Bangla II paper. So my post is for those students who want to write book fair - paragraph test.

A book fair refers to a place where different types of books and gathering of readers and writers take place and books of different authors on different subjects are mainly displayed for promotion and sale. Apart from religious and social festivals, the exhibition of various books and the gathering of readers and writers at a specific place on a special occasion is called a book fair. A well-known medium of our life where or through any festival we get information about various books is called book fair.

The first book fair in Bangladesh was started in 1965 under the name Shishu Granth Mela. And this fair was conducted by Sardar Zain Uddin Sardar. When Zain Uddin took a job in Bangla Academy, he collected a lot of foreign books in Bangla Academy. In one of them, he read a book called Wonderful World of Books. He liked two words very much and he became Pulkit.

And these two words are book (Book) and fair (Fair) and from here today's book fair or book fair was declared by UNESCO as International Book Year in 1972. Book fairs contain books on various subjects like children's medicine, engineering, history, philosophy, religion, politics, general knowledge and these books are mainly displayed for sale. People from all walks of life, young and old, come and buy books of their choice. The book fair becomes even more magnificent on holiday afternoons.

The book fair is full of noise and bustle throughout the day as all kinds of people come here and the book fair is usually held in the month of February to remember our language martyrs. Many times seminars and cultural programs are also organized in book fairs. Various items including songs, recitations, view cards, calendars, posters etc. are sold here. Book Fair reminds us that "Books are man's best friend". And that is why it is said-

"If you want to have a good friend in civilized society, choose the one who speaks equally for all time, and that is the book".

Although there is a noisy atmosphere of book lovers in the book fair, here the memory of the martyrs of our language provides inspiration for the future. And only from the book fair we get the opportunity to collect books at a low price.
